In Adventure Runs

Spring has come to Colorado, and it’s time for our legs to come out of the closet!! No more bundling up while running outside to withstand the bitter cold, putting numerous miles on the treadmill, or opting to workout on exercise equipment. Nope, we are now able to take it to the roads and trails!πŸƒπŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈ

On this glorious day, we enjoyed a run on the Monument Valley Trail in the heart of Colorado Springs. We parked at the trailhead off Fontanero on the west side of the Old North End neighborhood. Our run took us from the trailhead, south to Colorado College and back. Then we veered around some trails that branch off from the main trail next to Fountain Creek.

Mother Nature was truly at her best. A back drop of the majestic snow covered Pikes Peak set the scene. Vivid colors of the blue sky, green grass, red clay sand of the trail, and numerous flowers were a sight to behold. The temperature was a perfect 65 degrees. As we ran on the trail, the rippling water of Fountain Creek that runs parallel to it provided a tranquil yet motivating sound. Breathing the fresh air was invigorating.

There is nothing more exhilarating than having a perfect run, on a perfect day, in a perfect setting. It is this kind of experience that gets you through the long winter. So to all of you getting ready to kick off the running season,….go out there, enjoy the great outdoors, and run your heart out! Carpe Diem!

Sharing smiles and spring time miles!
