What started out to be a run along the Thames River, that was rained out…, became a gorgeous jaunt through St. James Park the following day. Yes, known for cloudy and rainy days, London held true to its reputation and the weather made us nix the river run. However, we were pleasantly surprised later on, by one of the most beautiful runs that London has to offer.
Not only was the weather perfect, the sights were truly breathtaking. From watching black swans to the Buckingham Palace, the trails through St. James park were filled with incredible treats to the eyes. The gardens were magnificent, and in full bloom that kept us in awe the entire run.
One thing to remember when running here, is to start early before the tourist crowd builds, otherwise you spend a lot of energy dodging photographers and people stopping to appreciate the amazing scenery. Luckily our hotel was located very close to the park, and therefore easy to run to. We took a nice 6 mile course by looping around the perimeter and including trails that went through the park.
All in all, it was a spectacular and very memorable run. I recommend adding it to your bucket list if ever you plan on going to London!
Sharing smiles and blooming miles!
